Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance
This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.
Built-In Offset for Dual Applications
This tire-and-wheel assembly is designed to be used in dual-wheel setups. The 5.35" offset allows the wheel to be positioned closer to the trailer frame when used as the inner wheel of the setup. And if you use this assembly as the outer tire and wheel, the offset ensures that it will sit closer to the outside of your trailer. This hub-piloted wheel centers on the hub, not the lugs, and it requires the use of flange nuts (sold separately) for installation.
Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish
This wheel has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.Provider RadialsProvider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.
In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.
To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.
Don't delay your adventures by having to take your trailer to the shop for new tires. Start rolling as soon as possible with easy-to-install, fully balanced tire-and-wheel assemblies from Taskmaster.
The cords on this radial ply tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Provider ST235/85R16 radial trailer tire in a load range G on this 16" Vesper silver dual wheel with the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is designed for dually trailers. The wheel offset on this allows this assembly to be used as either the inner or the outer wheel of a dual wheel setup and it is a sturdy steel wheel. You can see has the four handhold design here.
It does use a silver acrylic enamel finish to resist chipping and other damage better than the powder coat finishes. This finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and then it covers an e-coat primer layer. It gives you a nice, excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than a thousand hours. The center disc itself, this portion is formed from fine grain steel, and you can see it's welded in place all the way around for strength and durability. Now, this is a hub piloted wheel. It is designed to center onto a 4.77" diameter hub, and it does require the use of five-eighths inch by 18 size flange nuts for installation.
Those we do sell separately on our website. They're part number 59188, and the nuts are usually listed on this product page as a related product. The tire on this is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for nice long life. It's great for highway use.
They do use nylon tread firming belt overlays to help prevent tread separation. It does have the tread depth bars like you'll see in passenger car tires that give you a quick visual indication of your tread wear. The tire itself is bake tested to ensure that the rubber will hold up over time. This tire is a special trailer tire design, couples the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. It is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles.
It does come with a two year platinum plus warranty, which includes emergency tire change service and other benefits. And the assembly does meet the DOT specifications and exceeds the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The dimensions on the wheel itself, the diameter is 16", the width on just the wheel is 6" wide, bolt pattern on this wheel is 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. We mentioned it does use the flange nut size of five-eighths inch by 18. The weight capacity on just the wheel is 3,860 pounds. The pilot hole diameter is 4.77". The offset is always measured from the center line of the wheel to which side you go to either positive or negative. So this one, because it could be used as either an inner or outer wheel, it'll have a positive or negative offset of 5.35". The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 235/85R16. The R means it's a radial design tire. Section width on this is 9.3". Overall diameter from the bottom to the very top is 31.7. Tire capacity this is a load range G which means it's a 14 ply rated tire. The maximum load on this tire when it's used in a single application, a single tire application is 4,400 pounds at 110 PSI. If it's used in a dual tire application then it's 3,860 pounds at 110 PSI.Last thing I do want to mention is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with speed ratings on them. The speed rating is always designated on the tire by a letter designation. Where that's at is if you go right after the size, you'll see two numbers for the load index and then the letter M and it will also be stamped 110 PSI. But the letter M is your speed rating, and the speed rating M will mean 81 miles per hour. That should do it for the review on this Provider ST 235/85R16 radial trailer tire in a load range G on the 16" Vesper silver dual wheel with the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
